Mary Alice Benoit and her husband, Deacon Michael Benoit, have been parishioners of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for more than 32 years.  During that time she spent many hours as a school and church volunteer. After years of volunteer service, Mary Alice officially joined the parish staff as the Director of Communications and Strategic Planning under Fr. Ted Schmidt.  Over the years, her position grew to include managing the parish website, publishing the parish bulletin, serving as the liaison to the Parish Pastoral Council, co-coordinating the Parish Gala, Parish Picnic and the Parish Golf Outing.

Mary Alice is a former attorney specializing in contract litigation, complex real estate transactions and employment law,  and worked as a professional journalist for the Chicago Tribune.  She is also a certified teacher in secondary education in both English and Social Studies.  Beginning in July of 2019, Mary Alice brought her varied professional experiences to her current position as the Parish Business and Facilities Manager.  She is excited to serve St. John the Evangelist in this capacity at the church she and her husband and three daughters have called their home parish for so many years.
