Every Wednesday all baked items and other donations are delivered to the Elgin Crisis Center to support the Center and the people it serves. Volunteers can drop off their baked goods at the Parish Office all day Tuesday to Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Bake once a week, once a month or whenever your schedule allows.
Bereavement ministers offer compassion and assistance to families at the time of death. They assist the families in choosing readings and music and planning other aspects of the funeral Mass.
The Dial-A-Van offers free rides to the 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass. Call the Parish Office at 630-837-6500 on Fridays to reserve a space.
This ministry helps people who are looking for employment by providing practical job search and networking support. Meetings are on the second and fourth Mondays at St. Hubert’s Ministry Center in Hoffman Estates from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
Hospital Visitation
Ministers of Care visit parishioners at the area hospitals: St. Alexius, Sherman, St. Joseph and Alexian Brothers when we are aware of their hospital stay. They visit to offer prayer, bring Eucharist, offer comfort and support.
Nursing Home
Ministers of Care visit Alden Poplar Creek, Claremont and Lexington Nursing Homes. They lead a Communion service on Sunday morning and visit the residents confined to their rooms as well. We also provide an Anointing of the Sick twice a year and services during Holy Week. Some of our Ministers of Care also visit the residents during the week.
Homebound
Ministers of Care visit the sick and elderly in their homes when they are unable to be a part of the assembly. They pray with them offer support to them, and bring them Holy Communion.
Respect Life Committee is dedicated to promoting the integrity and worthiness of all human life from conception to natural death. We seek to educate the community regarding the teachings of the Catholic Church on life issues.
