Hi! My name is Christina Sekoguchi and I am the 8th grade homeroom teacher. I also teach 6th – 8th science. Previously, I taught 7th and 8th grade at Our Lady of Grace in Chicago for 11 years. I have always taught junior high and I love it!
I graduated from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a minor in Coaching. I grew up in Streamwood and have been a parishioner of St. Johns for many years.
My husband Gary and I were married in 2012 here at St. Johns and then I was fortunate to travel to Japan to meet my husband’s family in 2013.
During my free time I enjoy reading, outdoor activities, and watching the Sox, Bears, and / or Blackhawks with family and friends.
I have wanted to be a teacher since 3rd grade and have always enjoyed working with children. Shortly after college, I was looking for a ways to be closer to God. My prayers were answered when my great-aunt, Sr. Patricia McDonald connected me to Sr. Rita and O.L.G. From there, I was offered a wonderful opportunity to come to St. Johns and I was thrilled. I am looking forward to meeting the wonderful students and families of St. Johns and being part of this awesome community!!!
