Children in Grades 4 and up are invited to become altar servers and are assigned the Masses they will serve. Later, they are invited to learn how to serve Funeral and Wedding Masses. There is a 5-week training session each fall for the new altar servers.
The Greeters/Ushers give all who enter the church the first impression of the Parish. They pass out any worship or song sheets that may be needed and assist with seating. They must be ready to handle emergencies quickly and efficiently.
The Lector is responsible for proclaiming either the First or Second Reading at the Mass. Additionally, Lectors are asked to attend an annual Evening of Renewal and an initial training session. People who participate in this ministries must be registered parishioners.
Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion are lay parishioners who assist with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass or who bring Holy Communion to the sick and home-bound.
The sacristans are responsible for the sanctuary and sacristy area. They keep the vestments and altar linens cleaned and pressed and make sure all the liturgical vessels are cleaned and polished.
