Once again it is time to prepare for our popular parish musical. This year we are doing Willy Wonka and we are looking for parishioners ages 9 to 99. We are looking for kids, teens, young adults, moms, dads, grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles. Anyone who can sing and dance or is at least willing to try.
This year we are holding auditions by sign up to help our auditions run as smoothly as a river of chocolate. Sign ups will begin online on our parish website Jan. 2nd. We will provide some audition music for you to learn and come prepared
to dance a few steps for us.
For More information on our parish musical and the St. John Players, contact Mary Alice Benoit at 630-837-6500 ext. 30 or email her at email@example.com.
If you are interested in signing up for Auditions for Willy Wonka, please click on the link below. As of now, we are having 3 sign up slots, but may add additional slots if these are all filled. Please sign up for a slot for each person in your family that is auditioning. To audition you will need to prepare 32 bars of one of a song of your choosing. You must supply your own music without vocals to use at auditions if you wish. Also, come to rehearsal prepared to learn and demonstrate a short dance number. Expect auditions to take at least an hour, but we will try to get you in and out as fast as we can while allowing plenty of time for you to show off your talent.
CORRECTION: Due to technical difficulties, we are no longer asking auditioners to prepare a specific song from Willy Wonka. The producers of the play changed the technology on their vocal score from a pc based software to an app that will only work on an IPad or a smartphone. We tried to work around this, but we cannot figure out how to do it. So rather than delay things any longer, please prepare to sing a musical theater song of your own choosing and bring your own instrumental music to play (no vocals please). We are sorry for the confusion, but as they say, the show must go on! We look forward to seeing you at auditions.
